Competes and in most cases is better than anything put by bands 30 years younger than them. The best hits in my opinion- Unholy, Take It Off and God Gave Rock and Roll to You. Nevertheless the band was still focused for their 1977 album Love Gun. But like all other classic rock albums, the lesser-known material is often just as strong; "I Want You" and "Makin' Love" became concert staples over the years, while "Mr. DRC is just wicked, listen to the bass lines and the drum track - superb groove! Music From the Elder 16. With hits like "Detroit Rock City" and "Shout It Out Loud," "Destroyer" has since been deemed one of the 500 greatest albums of all time by "Rolling Stone" magazine. 7/10, Kiss had rightfully taken their place at the top of the rock and roll scene in 1977. The double-album is fleshed out by the addition of four new studio tracks. Kiss made the call not to include any songs from the first Alive, which made II seem a little one dimensional. Unholy, Spit, Paralyzed, Heart of Chrome Great songs and that's only 1/4 of the album. Most of Revenge sounds like Zombie or Manson, really heavy metal. "Rock and Roll All Nite" became a Top 20 smash and was the main reason for the album's success, but there are many other tracks that are just as strong -- "Deuce," "Strutter," "Firehouse," "Parasite," "She," "100,000 Years," "Black Diamond," and "Cold Gin" all shine in a live setting. Therefore it was a pure managerial decision for Kiss to repeat success by releasing a sequel to Alive! Highly recommended. Gene, the somewhat maligned presence on Dynasty, still does extremely well in delivering a pair of irresistible foot-stomping numbers "Charisma" and "X-Ray Eyes" although they would never be played live. I've had enough (into the fire! Pepper",... Second-best offering following 'KISS': seven satisfying tracks, with a bit of extra-effort maybe something about like a 70s-Rock-'Sgt. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date indicated and are subject to change. Double Platinum was not the first Kiss compilation on the market, 1976's The Originals being the first one, but it was the first greatest hits package that received a wide release and one that is still available today. Peter's 'Dirty Livin'' is perhaps the best and most honest song the original Catman ever recorded with Kiss; it is full of ferocity as he bears his claws in rejecting the rock and roll lifestyle that came with Kiss. The mean average rating would be 50. KISS 4. This one has my favourite track Parasite and together with the title track and the great other album tracks makes this the best with the debut coming in a close second. The production of Kiss' second album is strikingly different to their debut; the sound is muddy, gritty and raw; giving them a sound that was not unlike of Black Sabbath or Aerosmith. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 67.3/100, a mean average of 66.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 66.5/100. However, Creatures of the Night is the closest to a really good album to me since it's their most metallic-sounding album. Great album. Kiss had conquered the live album, but they still needed a studio album that matched it musically in the fire that was captured on 'Alive!'. The muddy analogue a cappella intro of "Eat Your Heart Out" sets the tone for tongue-in-cheek double entendres updating "Shout It Out Loud" with slightly different lyrics but the same bell-bottomed irreverence. That was dream, and Psycho Circus certainly proved that; the political and personal forces that kept Ace and Peter off Dynasty and Music From The Elder reared their heads again when it came time to go back into the studio. The disco label is an uneducated, lazy statement. The guys did not proceed with their latest LP without taking into consideration the growing popularity of the budding grunge scene; acts such as The Black Crowes, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, and Sonic Youth had given birth to a rock that was more darker and socially conscious of the everyman. Great next album after Alive. , What Makes the World go Round'.. All awesome tracks! A wasted opportunity 5/10, The end of The Farewell Tour unsurprisingly proved to not be the end for Kiss. Funny that, coming from 'Best of the Solo Albums'album. Revenge 19 Monster 20 Peter Criss 21. One of those bands I could never get into. By 2003, Peter Criss was on thin ice on a temporary contract that Paul and Gene grudgingly needed him to take. 7/10, "Hotter Than Hell" shows Kiss at their most hungry, and perhaps their most functioning as a working unit. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. These songs alienated fans, having a disco and dance-orientated feel to Kiss music for the first time, however they are so stylishly done that the band does not sound in over-their-heads on any of them. The result is more vibrant sounding than its predecessor, 1974's sludgefest Hotter Than Hell, and the songs have more of an obvious pop edge to them. Crazy Nights is mostly cheese and Revenge is over-rated. Paul shines as always now that his beloved Kiss is back on track, but is still torn between his heavy rockers, and his emotional ballads, which is evident on "I Just Wanna", "Everytime I Look At You", "Heart of Chrome", which does not make for the most consistent Kiss album. and Kiss. The Elder is very under-rated. Creatures of the NIght 7. But now, reflecting upon their 70s stuff, they were a truly revolutionary band in so far as theatrical rock goes and caring about the show they gave their fans. Only KISS albums. Two of the album's best tracks became hit singles; the sleazy hard rocker "Calling Dr. Love" and an acoustic ballad that was originally intended for Rod Stewart, "Hard Luck Woman". There are some Kiss fans that would embrace Crazy Nights as another party album to remember, but to others it is a little disposable. Strutted, nothing to lose, firehouse, cold gin, deuce, 100,000 years, black diamond. This approach, and Vinnie's skills as a lyricist, works really well on the amazing tracks; "Exciter", "Lick It Up", "Young and Wasted", "And On The 8th Day". Third-best of the regular studio releases, after 'KISS', following then 'Love Gun'; predominantly in exact 70s-style and packed with memorable offerings - in no way band sounding exhausted, thirty-two years on from the last original longplaying record {!
