It is fascinating to see the way that both women gravitate towards Carlos; each of them wanting him for their own. Audience Reviews for Musarañas (Shrew's Nest) Aug 09, 2015 Macarena Gomez is absolutely sensational, delivering a complex and intense performance as a … Un film avec beaucoup de compétences, donc, mais très peu d'acquis. While Montse’s maddening state assumes most of the focal story points, our discovery of her parent’s true backstory shines a light on both Montse and her sister that’s infinitely more harrowing than any of the hidden bloody corpses. While the prolonged simmering does get caught on “Low” for an awfully long spell, focused on Montse’s obvious kidnapping, both filmmakers make up for a few plodding lulls with an invigorated ending filled with visual atrocities and some seriously sadistic twists. Shrew's Nest is a slow, slow burn, but once the fireworks ignite, they explode in a spectacularly bloody spectacle that showcases Macarena Gómez's dementedly enjoyable performance. He was a huge talent and a great friend to all who worked with him. New episodes every Wednesday until the series finale. Laurent Lafitte, Karin Viard, Vincent Macaigne, De Set in the 1950s, the film starts off slowly with a dramatic feel that hints of what’s lurking underneath. Netflix Is Adding 22 New Movies/TV Shows This Week, Disney Plus Adding 7 New Movies/TV Shows This Week. This is not my typical fare as I much rather prefer straight up gore fests but by Shiva this was a well written, directed and executed film that should have any horror fan gripped with grippiness. A lazy camera work adds itself to a big pile of clichés: crazy ladies with some sort of supernatural strength, Christian images everywhere, a dark secret to be disclosed and, from some point on, blood, lots of blood. Not seeing the connection yet? Jeux concours | GOODBYE JOHNNY. When she acted nervous, you believed it. What about if I tell you that the movie throws an incapacitated stranger turned hostage into the mix? There are some huge reveals in Shrew’s Nest that make us sympathize with Montse’s plight and explain the undercurrent of weirdness that runs through the film. It was a nice touch and worked really well, especially when the tragic backstory was revealed. Shrew’s Nest is a masterfully written tale. Hoping it would go somewhere I watched to the end but particularly the last 20 minutes were just hard to sit through. Watch it now. Un film dans lequel on peut apprecier l'influence des films 'Misery' et 'What ever happened to baby Jane' a travers l'atmosphere caracteristique d'Alex de la Iglesia, et avec un final boulversant. Set in Madrid in the 1950’s the film centers around a young woman (called only “La Niña”) and her older sister, Montse. CGU | When handsome dude, Carlos (Hugo Silva), a man living in the apartment above, knocks on Montse’s door in pain and bleeding, Montse does what Jesus would do and takes him in. Guy stumbles upon another one of the town’s ungodly fixtures — a cornfield that wails and moans as if it were in pain. The whole movie happens inside the sister's apartment, which makes you feel quite claustrophobic, and that is the main idea of this nest, to be a nest where you can come in but never get out. Structurally, the film hit all of the beats on time. For such a staunch Catholic, Montse has a terrible habit of lying, not only to herself, but to Dona Puri, to Carlos, and especially to her younger sister, who is never named and always referred to as “the girl.” The Girl finds out about Carlos and is immediately smitten but also worried on his behalf knowing that Montse is not the helpful neighbor that Hugo thinks. Her younger sister, whose name we never learn, lives with her and leads a relatively normal life under the care of Montse even though the latter is subject to rages and hallucinations. Hell, I think even she’d be impressed [Insert smiling McKayla Maroney meme here]! Her sister (Nadia de Santiago) also lives in the apartment, giving Montse her only connection with the outside world since both of their parents passed away – until an injured neighbor named Carlos (Hugo Silva) appears at her doorstep. 7 abonnés C’est donc avec cette optique qu’il faut envisager le film. Lire ses 218 critiques, Suivre son activité These dynamics are complicated by the fact that Montse suffers from agoraphobia which prevents her from leaving the apartment, and an addiction to morphine stemming from her attempts to treat what ails her. Short on time, Guy lets his fists ask some questions and buys himself a ticket to the junkie’s supplier — The Mister. Montse takes him in, but grows so enamored with him that she makes sure he'll never leave.
